
About Jorge Sanchez
Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida, Jorge Sanchez is a South Florida writer, Florida author, Miami novelist, and Miami screenwriter who has long understood the power of storytelling and the profound impact a well-crafted tale can have. From an early age, he was drawn to the expressive possibilities of narrative, shaped by a deep love for cinema and theatre. These twin passions laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to creative expression.
Jorge earned his bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Miami in 1989. He later returned to his alma mater to complete a Master of Fine Arts in film production and theater directing in 1994. His University of Miami experience gives his work a personal connection to Miami Hurricanes football and South Florida sports. During his academic journey, he developed a rich and versatile skill set, mastering everything from screenwriting and cinematography to film editing, stage performance, directing, and theatrical design.
He is the author of the completed literary fiction novels Glory Be With You and Dorothy: It's Not Kansas Anymore. His climate-fiction novel Earth Like Mars is nearing completion.
